Since its founding in November 1986, Department of Biochemistry has been committed to expanding and sharing knowledge, inspiring innovation, and scientific information for future generations. Biochemistry is the understanding how biological molecules give rise to the processes that occur within living cells, which in turn relates greatly to the study and understanding of organisms. The knowledges of biochemistry are applied primarily in medicine, nutrition, environment, agriculture, and nanobiotechnology.
The educational goals are to nurture visionary leaders who will draw on their professional training in biological sciences and related areas to contribute to the community and nation. The school is focusing on the improvement of research capabilities and human resource development to be a world renowned wellspring of research education.
Since 1993, graduate students have graduated from 156 master's and 19 doctor's degree.
